"비디오 아트"는 전자적인 동영상을 주요 매체로 사용하는 현대 미술의 한 종류를 말한다. 비디오 아트는 단일 채널 비디오, 설치 및 대화형 조각을 포함하여 많은 형태를 취할 수 있다. 1960~70년대 예술가들이 영상이라는 새로운 기술을 실험하고 회화, 조각 등 전통 예술 형태에 도전하는 방식으로 등장했다. 오늘날, 비디오 아트는 미술계에서 널리 받아들여지고 확립된 장르이며, 전 세계의 갤러리, 박물관, 예술 축제에서 보여진다.
